OKAY FRIENDS. So we have a canon in camp called Vampire Knight. Which! Has actually been scanlated, all 40 chapters of it.

. . . wiiiiiiiiiith incrediable varying quality. And by incredible in some of the early chapters the characters' names are wrong and in some of the later chapters they are, for some unknown reason, done in MSpaint and some are pink. And sometimes I think their translations are actually babelfish.

): If anyone would be amazing and awesome and sexy and volunteer to help translate/typeset I'd love you like I'm blind.

O YES we can get raws and blah blah I'll clean etc blah blah give you my soul blah.

I know the community's a little on the dead side and all, but I have a proposition of the secret ninja kind for everyone. Myself and a few other people are desperate to scanslate an awesome and amazing and maybe just a little appable series, but there's a slight problem. We need help.

First official scan reminder post
O wow late >_< For the record, I have so much respect for every one of you who's been playing a character longer than I have now.

Okay, we're going to make this the first official nagging/reminder post: get back to work on those scans already! I know that Counselor apps are coming up, but you can still work on these while you're waiting to hear back from your betas or something. It'll help fill/pass time?

For those who want deadlines, you can either work something out with your group, try for a minimum of one page a day, or aim for one chapter/section (30 pages or so?) every three weeks. You can add another week for chapters/sections that are longer, or just split them into parts.

That said, we've still got a bunch of people willing to volunteer and a number of projects that need staff, so you're all encouraged to go latch onto people! And yes, you can work on more than one project at once, just try to keep your limitations in mind. It's also not too late to either sign up to volunteer or to recruit people. You can do that either in this post or the sign-up post linked above. If we still have people without jobs or staff next week, I'll probably assign them around arbitrarily.

Drop me a line if you want me to contact a group about a joint/parallel project.

Reminder posts will be more regular in the future, rly, I promise.

Project Volunteering and Recruitment Post
Finally, the first project volunteering post! After much deliberation, I'm going with option one (as seen here), though I'm still willing to do option two on a group-by-group basis if you feel you need a looming authority figure to help you get your work done ;)

But first, a brief description of possible jobsCollapse )

Getting started on a projectCollapse )

And I think that's everything. Now, let's get these projects started!

Proposed Project GuidelinesCollapse )

I'd also like to take the opportunity to ask those of you with experience scanlating things if you have any tips or wisdom that you'd like to share, since I'm more or less making this up as I go along.

In addition, I'll have a number of art/photo editing programs up in a locked post shortly, for those of you who need or want one.

Project Picking Post
First official post to decide on projects :3b Suggest them here in the comments.

But first, I want to hear your thoughts on yaoi (except not)Collapse )

As far as actually picking projects goes, once I get a list of possibilities I'll make another post where people can volunteer to work on different projects, and we can probably organize/finalized project decisions there.

On a different note, I'd like to know if anyone wants to make a community icon and/or jazz up the layout, since I don't know how to do the latter and am short ideas for the former.
